About this exam
RRB Group D is the single largest government recruitment in India by application volume, filling Track Maintainer Grade IV, Pointsman, Assistant (Workshop, S&T, Loco Shed, Bridge) and Helper posts across all railway zones.
Educational qualification: 10th pass, or ITI / NAC from NCVT recognised institute.

Selection process
1. CBT
100 questions, 90 minutes, 1/3 negative marking.
2. PET
Male lift 35 kg for 100 m in 2 min and run 1000 m in 4 min 15 sec; female lift 20 kg and run 1000 m in 5 min 40 sec.
3. DV & Medical
Document verification and medical fitness (A3, B2, C2 categories).

Mathematics
Number system, BODMAS, decimals, fractions, LCM-HCF, ratio, percentage, mensuration, time-work, time-distance, SI-CI, profit-loss, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calendar and clock.
General Intelligence & Reasoning
Analogies, alphabetical and number series, coding-decoding, mathematical operations, relationships, syllogism, Venn diagram, data interpretation, conclusions and decision making.

Cut-off trend
Qualifying marks are 40% for UR, 30% for OBC/SC and 30% for ST, but zone merit cut-offs usually go far higher — 70-80 out of 100 for UR in busy zones.
