About this exam
SSC MTS fills Multi Tasking Staff posts in central government offices and Havaldar posts in CBIC and CBN. Havaldar posts have an 18-27 age band and include a physical test; MTS posts are 18-25 with no physical test.
Educational qualification: 10th pass from a recognised board.

Selection process
1. Session 1 (CBT)
Numerical ability and reasoning, 45 marks, 45 minutes, no negative marking.
2. Session 2 (CBT)
General awareness and English, 75 marks, 45 minutes, 1 mark negative marking.
3. PET/PST (Havaldar only)
Walking and cycling test with prescribed height and chest standards.

Numerical Aptitude
Integers, LCM-HCF, decimals, percentage, ratio, average, simple interest, time-work, basic geometry and mensuration.
Reasoning

What is the difference between MTS and Havaldar posts?
MTS is an office support post with an 18-25 age band and no physical test. Havaldar is in CBIC/CBN with an 18-27 band and a mandatory physical efficiency test.
Is there negative marking in SSC MTS?
Session 1 has no negative marking. Session 2 deducts 1 mark for every wrong answer.
